This outfit is quite different from what I generally wear (higher up on the Ally McBeal scale of ridiculously unprofessional mini skirts), but I found it a nice departure from my regular style and got quite a few compliments on it. I did bring my patent brogues along to work because, as much as I wish they could, my feet just can't handle a full day of activities on a pair of stiletto heels. Even though these particular ones are actually surprisingly comfortable and non-wobbly!

The pretty fall leaves have disappeared by now, but they're only making way for Christmas lights. We'll probably go pick out our Christmas tree next weekend or the weekend after, and I can. not. wait. It's the kind of milestone I look forward to every year, and despite its predictability, the fact that no tree is ever the same as last year's always keeps the experience fresh. Most of the time the surprise of taking the netting off the tree is a pleasant one, but last year our tree was a real dud. No amount of piled on ornaments could make it look the way I wanted it to, so all in all the tree was a total let down. However, being the optimist I always will be, I'm sure that this year's tree will be just perfect.
